A Nook Home

Tucked away amid the heritage buildings of Colaba, NOOK is an old home reimagined through colour, texture and a deep respect for its original character. The high ceilings, roshandans and old marble floors were all retained — the design worked with the bones of the building, not against them.

No architectural changes were made. The original flooring, a beautiful old English marble, was repolished and kept. Furniture blends contemporary and classic. Surfaces play with contrasts of matt and gloss — mirrored dining and bar tops to expand the space and add glamour, the rest kept muted and simple.

The living room takes a more dramatic turn: dark walls, deep hues, a charcoal sofa styled with a geometric carpet and colourful cushions. An antique chandelier, block-printed wallpaper and soft-curved chairs bring in an old-world richness. It’s a deliberate play of high and low impact — bold in one room, breezy and neutral in the next.

The design is a play of contrasts — vintage soul with contemporary edge, drama with calm — where every corner rewards a second look.
